it is not a planners job to place a church, synagogues, mosques, etc.

these are things people will need to build themselves within these communities.

this seems to be a project done by urban designers/urban planners — so really it's more about transportation and green space — making things accessible.

then the people can do what they want — buy land, build a church, whatever.. you know? that's not our job, lol.. we can only recommend so much as planners

then again — IF the area is known for being/having a religious history, it IS a planners job to know this… and incorporate it into their plans if necessary. this is obviously a project more geared toward walkability and greenspace.. which is great because sustainability is important

that's not really the point…… and it's not really that important either. that's for the religious leaders to deal with…. not planners.. unless they are working for those persons in collaboration to create a project which deals specifically with that itself.

The planners can zone for mixed use, which means that if there is a demand for churches, then they can be built by interested religious organizations.

Not sure how much demand there is for new churches these days though…. people seem to have begun to let the old superstitions go.

I was almost surprised that we were doing this until i seen the partnerships.. noo wonder!! Ppl in Toronto have this anti creativity, pro over regulate everything mentality. Ppl here are like "nah u don't know what ur talking about that will never amount to anything etc etc" while in the U.S. & Europe ppl are more like "hmm so lets figure how we can make that idea workout"
